Our family loves chewing gum, and we buy at least 5 packs a week. Our favorite is definitely Trident and I recently came across a reason to love them even more! (But I will get back to that in a minute)

I feel our families gum chewing is part of our dental hygiene, not only does it make our breath fresh and nice for those around us, but if we chew Trident for 20 minutes after eating and drinking it can help clean and protect our teeth. Part of being a mom for me is making sure products my family consumes are going to make them healthy and happy. My family’s health means everything to me. I hate seeing my kids sick or hurt, and if that comes from a product I buy I can’t even begin to explain the guilt I feel. When my oldest was a baby I bought some new wipes I had never used before, and they gave her one of the worst rashes I had ever seen. I was devastated! She was sore for over a week, and I felt like a terrible mom. This is something that has probably happened to every mom, and in no way does it mean you are a bad mom. That’s just part of being a parent. Luckily we can learn from our own and other’s mistakes to help us provide what’s best for our family.

It’s a messy world out there… especially for moms. I don’t think a second passes by without some sort of mess being created in my home; with young kids it’s only natural, what isn’t natural is all the products made to help take care of those messes.

As a mom who has had two teeth extracted, too many cavities to remember and countless root canals I knew I wanted my kid’s dental health to be different. I want them to smile and be proud of what beautiful little smiles they have. I have always had my kids brush their teeth, but when they would only do it for about twenty seconds I would shrug it off and think “well at least they don’t eat a lot of sweets; their teeth should still be really healthy” then came one of my daughters checkups and the dentist turned to me and said “looks like she has about six cavities” SIX CAVITIES!! I think I almost fainted. I was naïve in thinking a little bit of brushing and cutting back on sweets would somehow save them from cavities.
