There are some things I can’t imagine not having around the holidays. One of these items might surprise some, but I can’t imagine the holidays without my Echo dot and Alexa. Becoming financially responsible has been a huge topic in our home recently. With two older kids we want to make sure they are fiscally responsible and we know it’s our job as parents to make sure they are ready for the real world. We have set up budgets and jobs for all of our kids, but it can be difficult to distribute that money to them. Gone are the days of a piggy bank. In this day in age with so much technology it just seems so antiquated.

Lately, I am blown away by all the amazing opportunities kids have now days. So much information and technology right at their fingertips. My daughter is nine, and there isn’t anything she can’t easily learn. At her age, I would have had to head to the library and hope they had a book on what I wanted to learn. It was difficult, and I missed a lot of opportunities because of this. I am so grateful, though that it can be different for my daughter. She can do anything she wants and, with practice and focus, learn new abilities and skills.
