I knew this day would come...

My hubby has always loved playing games, and I knew eventually my kiddos would want to play too.

My little girl started playing Minecraft today and she can't get enough of it now. She can actually control the keyboard and mouse pretty well.

I'm not a huge fan of her playing a lot of video games, but I have to admit she looks pretty cute doing it! Smile

The Most Amazing Carpet Deodorizer Ever!! Check it out!

February 2013

Easy

I love having my house smell fresh and clean, but with two toddlers that goal becomes a little more difficult.

I used to buy carpet deodorizers at the store and the smell would last maybe an hour (if I was luckyLaughing)

So I decided I would make my own! Now anytime someone comes over they can't stop commenting about how good it smells.

This is super easy and frugal to make too!

You will need:

1-2 cups of baking soda

1/4 cup of unstopables (you can find them here on Amazon or at your local store) This is my go-to fabric softener so I always have it on hand.

Directions:

:: I used my food processor to blend the two ingredients together (you can also just smash them if you don't have a food processor)

:: Make sure the unstopables are a dust consistency

:: Put in a container and sprinkle on your carpet before vacuuming! (I use a sifter to make sure I don't put too much down)

Ta-da! You will be amazed at how good your house will smell after you do this!!

Be sure to come back and tell me what you think!

Track What You Eat!

February 2013

So this is now my new motto! I realized I will never lose weight if I don't track what I eat!

You can track what you eat by just simply putting it down in a notebook to using an official food diary.

I track what I eat on MapMyRide this is just one of the MAPMYFITNESS SITES.

I input my food and it tells me exactly how many calories I have consumed, and once I do a workout it will also tell me how many calories I burned.

(and yes I crossed out my weight! Not exactly ready to share that with the whole world Laughing)

They also have a very comprehensive database of food that you can get calorie and nutrition info from.

No matter how you keep track of what you eat, the important thing is that you do!

I thought I had my calories in check until I started documenting them and found out that I was way over what I needed.

So next time you go to sit down to a meal, make sure you plan on writing down what you ate!

It's Clearance Time at Walmart!! 3 Rules for Shopping Clearance Racks!

February 2013

Easy

Have you checked out your local Walmart lately? Right now most Walmarts are clearing out a ton of their inventory to make room for new items!

Which means really low priced clearance items!!

Clearance Racks are a great way to stock up on items for the next year.

To make sure you don't go overboard or waste money buying things you will never use, here are a few rules for shopping clothing clearance racks:

1. Most things are on clearance for a reason. That means no you shouldn’t get your husband the shirt that says “This is my Girl Watching Shirt” or anything remotely that tacky.

2. Be Selective! Take your time going through your clearance racks, you are looking for something you want. You don’t save money if you start thinking “It’s only $3.00!”

3. Think about under garments. When the clothing racks go out there is usually a hidden gem somewhere in the store of clearance socks and underwear, this is the time to do your kids and husband a favor by replacing those 1995 model Fruit of the Looms!

I snagged some layered shirts for the kiddos for only $2 each! I stocked up on enough to have them set for next winter!

Thanks I Heart the Mart!
