*NEWS* Recall of 450,000 Ford Minivans and SUVs

January 2012

I know a lot of us drive SUV's and minivans so I thought I'd pass this info along.

Luckily it's not something that's immediately dangerous, but it's good to know.

Ford is recalling a total of 450,000 minivans and SUVs.

2001 - 2002 Ford Escape SUV

A reservoir cap on its brake master cylinder that can leak brake fluid, which could lead to smoking or even a fire.

2004 - 2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey

The torque converter output shaft that can fail, which can cause the vehicle to lose power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford has said that with both recalls, it will inform the affected owners, and dealers will replace the parts for free.

In the case of the Escape, Ford said it will begin notifying owners the week of Jan. 23, but because of a parts delay, Ford said it may not be able to fix some of the vehicles right away.

In those cases, Ford said it will tell owners to park their SUVs outside until the parts become available and the vehicles can be fixed.

If you have one of these models, and you don't receive a notice, make sure you contact your local dealer.

Wow!! Look What FREEBIES I Got Today!!!

January 2012

Oh my goodness!! Guess what I got?!! I was cleaning out my Junk email earlier (which is pretty much an all day task lol)

and I found an email from Staples stating that my order that I got with the $15 off coupon was ready for pick-up!

From what I knew all the orders where cancelled, but I thought I would call just to make sure, and I was told it was there!

So I got a FREE electric can opener and two Post-it notes!

So if you did this deal you might want to call your local store and see if you have anything waiting for you.

Also I got my FREE razor!! Yay!! When you see little FREEBIES like this they do pay off!

You can still head over here to try to get this one! (I think they have a waiting list you can get on)

*TIP* FREEBIE Safety!

January 2012

We had a FREEBIE this morning that came into question on if it was legitimate or not.

So I thought this would be a great time to go over some information on grabbing FREEBIES.

Many people still believe you can't get something for free.  To a certain extent that is true, for anything they ask some form of information, whether it's just a name and address to send your product to you, or a long questionnaire.

It's your information and these days information is sometimes as important as money.

And it's up to you to decide if what you give out is worth what you are getting.  Almost all companies give out freebies in some way, large corporations and small startups.  Some of the best freebies can come from new sites and companies.

They provide you with a sample of their products; you try it, and possibly become a future customer.

When you are taking advantage of these FREEBIES here are a few steps you need to take:

1. As a general rule on the internet, you should never give out your credit card information.  Some situations like a daily deal site referral credit freebie, you still need to use a credit card to confirm.  If you need to use a credit card to grab a FREEBIE never use you personal card. I always use a prepaid card with a very low balance on it.

2. Unless you are prepared for a phone call, don't fill out a form that asks for your phone number.  Remember, if they ask for it, you assume they will use it. (there are services available that will give you a phone number that will take the caller to a voice mail for you)

3. If you are like my husband and can't stand junk mail, in your personal e-mail, create a separate e-mail account just for freebies.  This way you won't miss any free opportunities and you don't lose track of friends and family.

4. Always read the Terms of Use/Terms of Service/Conditions, etc.

5. Be very careful about popups, generally they do not apply to the freebie you were originally trying to get. If one comes up that isn't associated with the FREEBIE just exit out of it.

In the end, it's your info, never blindly sign up for things without deciding whether the cost is worth it.

Myself and the Mamas Spot community will always be here to help and lookout for each other, so if you know of a great freebie SHARE IT and if you know of a possible scam SHARE IT!

There are tons of great opportunities out there for us to grab we just need to be smart about it! Smile
