Newlywed and Broke... The I love Lucy for 2013! Check It Out!

When I saw the name of this project, I was immediately intrigued.  "Newlywed and Broke"  certainly brings me back to a time when we were floating in overdraft charges and Ramen noodles (my husband has 100 ways to make Ramen but that is another post for another time) but frankly, we were pretty happy.

It is true that some of our best and funniest memories were before we had really established ourselves financially.

If you can relate to my memories of being broke and newlywed or even just broke then you will love the "Newlywed and Broke" project.

The stars of this project are Reko and Kat and they want to raise enough money to make their real life trials and tribulations into a web series that will hopefully get picked up by network television.

This really is the "I love Lucy" for 2013.

The only problem is that, you guessed it, they are Newlywed and Broke!  Really it is a vicious cycle.

Take a look at their video on IndieGoGo and then keep reading to find out how to support their project!

Newlywed and Broke: An IndieGoGo Campaign from Ingenium on Vimeo

At the time of this post, the campaign has raised just over $10,000 which is fabulous but they still need to meet the goal of $25,000.

Besides helping to meet the obvious goal, I think telling the marketing people what we want to see via crowdfunding is an incredibly neat concept.

In fact, this is the first time that crowdfunding manager, John-Michael Scott and crowdfunding campaign promoter, Philip Cardwell have joined forces in support of a crowdfunding film project.

Once you have made a donation, there are so many great ways to keep tabs on how the project is coming along.

Check them out on Twitter, Facebook or YouTube.

Also if you have a great Broke Tip leave it in the comments of the IndieGoGo page and they will consider using it!

So many cool ways to get involved!

Friday Frugal Fashion Board - Casual, Classy Friday! Items as low as $6.42!!

The Frugal Fashion board for today is "Casual, Classy Friday" because dressing down is fun but it doesn't mean that you can't look great for a very low price!

This week I found this shirt that I love!!  It is such a great color and the material looks so comfy.

The great news is that you can get it HERE on Amazon for $10.09 (in the pictured color Pebble Brown).  I certainly could see myself wearing this shirt with jeans for an evening out so $10 is a great buy!

Next up are these navy capri pants which are perfect for the warm weather (most) of us are experiencing!  You can get these on Amazon for $21.65 (Free Two Day Shipping with Prime). Another piece that is reusable so even though it goes over the $20 mark, I think it is worth the money!

Then I came across this purse as I wanted to tie in the navy color of the capri pants.  I really like this purse because it can pull off a casual, everyday look or could be dressed up to be a nautical theme.  Very versatile!  Even better you can get it here for $8.85!

Moving onto shoes.. ah shoes... I could shop for these forever.  But I did need to decide which pair I liked best for this ensemble and I choose these gladiator sandals that come in 4 colors and are available for under $15.  Certainly another piece that can be used again and again!

These earrings are a personal favorite of mine.  They come in two colors and I think they go wonderfully with so many outfits.  The best part is that they are only $10 with Free Two Day Shipping with Prime!

I love a nice coordinating nail polish and it is an easy way to change up your look day to day. This particular color is good for day to day wear as it is neutral with just a hint of pop!  I picked this color which is called "It Starts With Me" and it is only $6.42 on Amazon.

About Mamas Spot

We are a family of four that left it all behind to go travel the world. No, literally we left it all. We sold all of our possessions, packed what we could into four suitcases and said goodbye to suburban life. All we own is now pulled behind us as we travel to new and exciting destinations. Showing our kids the world and teaching them about new cultures, food, and ways of life is now our 9-5.

We love watching our kids learn, and learning along side them. Together we have now explored many new countries, visited family on the other side of the world, and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Welcome to our journey!
