It’s no secret that New York City is pricey. While you can definitely do NYC on a budget the one thing I can never get cheap enough is accommodations. So sometimes when you really want to visit a destination, but don’t want to break the bank you have to get a little more creative; think outside of the box. Family friendly accommodations can also be really tricky in the city; no family wants to be crammed together for their whole vacation. This is our family’s top tip for saving a ton of money while still being able to enjoy the Big Apple! You don’t have to stay on Manhattan to enjoy all it has to offer. You don’t even need a car if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of driving it in the city and parking. You can just jump on a bus right across from the hotel that goes right into the city.
Embassy Suites Secaucus offers many different room types, but all of them have one thing in common; space! They are so roomy that any size family could feel at home. We stayed in the presidential suite during our last stay and enjoyed over 1,000 sq. ft. and two separate bedrooms for a fraction of what a presidential suite would come to in the city. Another amazing benefit of staying at The Embassy Suites Secaucus is the complimentary breakfast buffet. The whole family can sit down to an amazing breakfast before heading into the city. They also have made to order items that are freshly made by the amazing cooks at the property.
These cooks know what they are doing too as most of them have been working for the property for many years. I love coming back year after year and seeing the same incredibly friendly staff! A favorite of most that stay at the hotel is the nightly manager’s reception. You can grab a few snacks provided and a drink and just unwind from the day. It’s a fantastic way to spend the evening.
I have also found it very difficult to get a hotel in the city with a pool and luckily the Embassy Suites Secaucus has a great one that the whole family can enjoy. During our last stay we really loved it since it was snowing outside and the pool is indoors and heated. The property has laundry facilities to handle any wet swimsuits afterward.
