If you are planning a trip to NYC, you may be surprised to find out that your hotel options don’t end in the city. In fact, one of the best hotels lies over the Hudson River in New Jersey. Let me introduce you to a wonderful family-friendly hotel: Embassy Suites Secaucus. When you first arrive, you are happily greeted by Embassy staff and welcomed to a beautiful hotel centered around a large open atrium.
The aesthetic experience of simply walking in the doors of this bright, open hotel is only the beginning to a wonderful stay. Every Embassy room is a two room suite - no upgrades needed if you don’t want the extra cost (although the upgrades are pretty sweet!). You have the choice between a king, queen, or double beds, and in the other room you will find a pull-out sofa, TV, desk, microwave, fridge, and more!
All of these perks make it a perfect hotel for families. We love that we can have the kids stay in one room while we stay in the other. This makes for a little more privacy for the adults and a great space for the kids to play and sleep in.

The rooms are only a small piece of why I stay with Embassy Suites Secaucus; the hotel has some amazing and complimentary amenities. It’s rare that you will find the word “complimentary” anywhere in Manhattan, so this is significant! At hotels in the city, everything has a price tag. At Embassy it’s all complimentary, like the hot breakfast Embassy Suites Secaucus gives all its guests. This is not just any breakfast, it is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever experienced. It comes complete with hot, made-to-order dishes.

This was a huge hit with my kiddos and every morning they would beg to head down to breakfast. Who could resist bacon, eggs, pancakes, French toast, and made-to-order omelets? Not our family! Anything that can make my life as a mom easier is a good thing in my books!
Embassy Suites Secaucus also has a wonderful manager’s reception in the evening. Adults can enjoy free drinks and snacks and the kiddos get some yummy snacks as well. Several nights they put out some fantastic veggies and I was thrilled to have fresh, healthy snack options for the kids.
I was also thrilled to have a great pool for the kids to play in and on-site laundry facilities that are always needed with kids. Having all clean clothes upon checkout is refreshing and makes the transition back to normal life infinitely easier! Embassy Suites Secaucus really is the whole package! Nothing else can compare to everything you get with Embassy; they really do offer everything a family could need while visiting the big city.
