From a Kid’s Perspective: Top 5 Reasons Your Family Should Be Staying at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner

Our family is really brand loyal; when we find something amazing, we stick with it. This extends to our travel plans as well. I keep detailed notes in my head of what hotels, activities, and restaurants have to offer our family while we travel. What works, and what doesn’t. Who has some of the best amenities, and how our overall experience was. When we head to DC, our “brand loyalty” lies with Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner; they offer everything our family needs.  DC is full of great hotels, but none of them are as family friendly as Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner.

There are many factors that make Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner one of my favorite hotels in not only the DC area, but actually in the entire US, the most obvious of which is the location. Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner is located right next to Tysons Corner, one of the largest malls in North America. This puts Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner right in the center of shops, restaurants, and more, making your vacation fantastic!

I could probably list a thousand reasons to stay at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner, but since this was one of my kids favorite hotels I wanted to have a kid’s perspective and share with you their top 5 reasons you should stay at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner:

#1 – The Mall: No, I am not alone in thinking this is a fantastic feature to staying with Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner. Although their shopping tastes are definitely differing from mine, my kids couldn’t get enough of being at the LEGO, American Girl, or Disney store within minutes. They also loved the playground outside of the hotel and the train inside the mall. It made for always having something to do and never running out of activities.

#2 – Barrel & Bushel: Although the mall has plenty of restaurant options, there are none quite like Barrel & Bushel. It’s also incredibly convenient having a restaurant inside of the hotel. The kids loved all of the different options that Barrel & Bushel had. With all of our travels, our kids have acquired the ability to know a good menu when they see one, and Barrel & Bushel definitely brings a lot to the table (no pun intended). From amazing hearth pretzels to Barrel & Bushel’s signature Mayo Grilled Cheese with pimento cheeses, roasted tomato soup, and oregano pistou, the kids were always satisfied and happy.

My daughter loved ordering breakfast from Barrel & Bushel every morning and eating in her robe. She’s not a typical “girly girl,” but she loves being pampered and, more importantly, being comfortable. After our first breakfast she told me, “I want to have breakfast like this every morning,” referring to the amazing food from Barrel & Bushel paired with the fantastic view from our room. Even a child can appreciate how terrific it is staying at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner.

#3 – The Pool: Shortly after we started our travels, I realized the importance of a great pool. This lesson was taught to me by my little mermaid daughter who can’t get enough of being in water. She will take a beach, if possible, and stay there all day, but if not, she requires a good pool. She couldn’t wait to see the pool at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner and we headed to it right after check-in. She was really excited to get in a heated indoor pool and was greeted by a fantastic pool with great windows to look over all of Tysons Corner.

#4 – The Rooms: Our son is always the judge of a great hotel room. He is quick to point out all the amenities and little things that he spots inside the room. He certainly had his work cut out for him at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner! We had a Suite that was beautiful, spacious and had plenty of “cool” things that grabbed his attention. As he walked around the room, he would exclaim, “Mom look at this!” From the practical yet amazingly comfortable sofa and chairs to the huge walk in shower, he was fascinated by everything in our room. It was a fantastic room for my husband and me, but I think it was appreciated even more by our kids. Unfortunately my little boy was sick during our stay so I think he really appreciated the comfort at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner while he got feeling better.

#5 – The Beds: Hyatt knows comfort and they have some of the most comfortable beds you will find. Our kids slept in about a half hour later every morning and I swear it’s due to how comfortable these beds are! In the morning after breakfast, they would crawl back into bed to snuggle up. My little girl loved putting on her robe and wrapping herself up in her bed. When we left, they asked me, “Will the next place we go have beds like these?” That’s a true testament to how comfy they are!

Less than a day after we left they were asking if we could go back and I think that is what makes a truly great hotel; the desire to be there again. Want to check it out for yourself?
