If you don’t know by now, I am a huge fan of Embassy Suites in general. You can read here why it’s our family’s first choice when visiting NYC, but I want to talk to you a little more about the particular perks of a family stay with Embassy Suites Secaucus.
The fifth floor may not seem like the obvious first choice in floors in the Big Apple or other large cities, but just outside NYC at the Embassy Suites Secaucus, it’s exactly where you want to be. This is the Honors floor, and it comes with perks you and your family will absolutely love.
I can’t even begin to count how many times during our travels an “upgrade” of some sort is offered. Flights, hotels, cars, and more; we are constantly being asked if we want to upgrade. In most cases, those upgrades simply aren’t worth it. Don’t get me wrong, I love an upgrade to business or first class on my flights, but not when I have the whole family in tow. It’s just not worth the pretty penny I would have to shell out and I’m relatively certain other passengers would prefer that my little rascals stay back in coach. An upgrade at Embassy Suites Secaucus though? That’s another story.
As a travel writer, internet is a definite must and on the fifth floor internet is complimentary and fast. No slow speeds, no wait time, just perfect internet. After returning from Colombia, a developing country with incredibly slow to non-existent internet, I was ecstatic for the high speeds. The kids loved it too because it meant they could play online games; a lifesaver for those boring moments when my husband and I take 45 minutes to decide on the day’s activities.
As if that wasn’t enough to make me a happy traveler, I was informed that on the fifth floor, guests can enjoy free snacks. That’s right, free snacks! As a mom this was like telling me I had won some sort of lottery. Anytime our family got a bit peckish, we would head down to the gift shop area and pick out a drink and snack to take back to our room. It was fantastic! If the kids got a little hungry after walking all day in the city and I was too exhausted to even think about feeding them quite yet, they could just grab a quick snack and they were good to go!
Hospitality is king at Embassy Suites, and the staff are always prepared to go the extra mile for you! Most of the staff has worked there for years and they are what make Embassy Suites Secaucus amazing!
Even if you decide against the fifth floor, Embassy Suites Secaucus has numerous amazing perks - you will come out a winner no matter what! Here are just a few of those perks:
- Amazingly friendly and helpful staff
- Hot made-to-order breakfast (we’re talking delicious omelets stuffed with goodness here!)
- Pool (mandatory for the kids)
- Laundry facilities (for after the pool, of course)
- Spacious suites (definitely a must with kids!)
As a travel writer, my family and I have stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world. I always remember the great ones that worked out perfectly for our family, but the true testament and ultimate way to know how truly wonderful a hotel was is if our kids remember it and still talk about it. They still talk about Embassy Suites Secaucus and ask when we can go back!
