Kuala Lumpur has so much to offer travelers and is definitely a destination that should be on everyone’s must visit list. For families it’s a great place to relax, soak in some nature and see fantastic sites. Kuala Lumpur has one of the only rainforests in the middle of a big city, the majestic Petronas Towers and so much more. There were many things that appealed to me about The Gardens Hotel & Residences, but the two perks that stood out the most was that attached to two malls and they not only have a hotel, but also residences for guest looking for more of a place to temporarily call home, something a little different than the typical hotel stay. The Gardens Hotel & Residences is a five star property and you instantly know it as soon as you arrive. The hospitality is above and beyond and they do everything possible at The Gardens Hotel & Residences to make sure your stay is extraordinary.
Our family chose to stay in the Residences for the added bonus of having a kitchen and a little more space for our family to rest and relax. When traveling with kids more space is always nice and having a kitchen for the option of homemade meals is definitely a luxury we enjoy. As our daughter gets older she really loves helping out with cooking so it was a treat for her to be able to prepare something for our family while at The Gardens Hotel & Residences. I have to admit I’ve never stayed at a property that had two malls attached to it!

You will find the Gardens Mall and The Mid Valley Megamall right at your doorstep. This was way more exciting than I even thought it was going to be. We could visit either mall without even having to go outside. So much shopping!! For those who hate to shop (i.e. my husband) there are plenty of other things to enjoy at the Malls besides shopping. There are also so many restaurant options you will have a hard time deciding exactly where to eat.

The Spread –
A vibrant all-day dining restaurant, The Spread showcases a wide variety of local and continental specialties. The highlight of the day is the Lunch Buffet, with live action cooking stations sampling flavors and aromas from around the world. We had breakfast every morning at Spread and it was definitely on of the best breakfast buffets we have sampled.
Sage Restaurant & Bar –
What a special treat Sage Restaurant is; you will find a fusion here like nowhere else. The French Japanese fusion menu will blow your mind. The award-winning Sage Restaurant & Wine Bar has re-opened with a brand new look and even more exciting menu whilst remaining true to its origin.
Ri- Yakitori –
This restaurant delivers inventive and traditional takes on Japanese Yakitori. Skewers of chicken, beef and vegetables are served alongside classic Japanese dishes.
The rooms at The Gardens Hotel & Residences are beautifully appointed and our room even had fresh orchids for a touch of the outdoors. One of my favorite things about our suite was the balcony. Normally hotels with high floors don’t have balconies, so it was a pleasure to be on the 30th floor with a balcony and fantastic views of the city.
Our kids loved favorite part of the room was feeling at home in the living area and having a movie night. They curled up in all their blankets and we put on their favorite movie. We stayed in a two bedroom deluxe room and it had more than enough space for our family of four.
