Day Trips and Destinations with Panasonic Lumix G7

August 2015

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Panasonic. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

As summer starts to come to an end I find myself needing to squeeze in one more vacation before school starts. So we headed off to New York and DC! I know many people in the city try to escape during this time, but I love NYC in the summer. There’s live music, movies in the park and some amazing outdoor eating.

I try to pack light when we go on vacation, but I usually get weighed down by all my electronics especially my camera. You don’t realize how big and bulky your camera is until you have had to hold it while walking all around a big city. Last time we were in NYC I was sick of my bulky DSLR by the end and even just left it in the hotel room our last day to avoid carrying it around. Thankfully this trip I had my new Panasonic LUMIX. This bad boy is mirrorless and weighs a fraction of what most DLSR’s on the market weigh. No more lugging around heavy equipment just to attempt to get those perfect shots. This camera is compact, light and has the ability for interchangeable lenses.

The Panasonic LUMIX also has more bells and whistles than other cameras you will find. With a touch-enabled monitor you can change the focus of your shots, scroll through photos, or change settings instantly. With the Panasonic LUMIX G7 4K Ultra HD Video, you get 30 frames-per-second, and can grab an 8-megapixel still image from that video.

My favorite feature of this incredible camera is still by far the WIFI ability. I don’t have a great camera phone and even if I did it still would pale in comparison to a real professional camera. So I can’t express enough how amazing it is to post my professional looking photos straight to social media while I am out.

We didn’t take our kids with us on this trip, but we did take them out for a few day trips and I always forget how hard it can be to get them to hold still while I take some photos. Luckily the LUMIX has DFD Focusing that will track your subject. So you never have to worry if your kids won’t hold still, with DFD Focusing you will always get a great picture of them no matter how wiggly they are.

I could really go on and on about how fantastic the Panasonic LUMIX G7 is, but I think the pictures speak to its amazing capabilities more than I ever could. Here is a little taste of our fun over the summer and our day trips and destinations.
