Is your Kid a CaymanKIND of Kid? (Vacation Giveaway Contest)

(This is a sponsored post, however all the opinions expressed are my own.)

For me the hardest time of year is right about now. Spring is trying to makes its entrance to the world, but winter just isn’t ready to let go. I never know if tomorrow is going to be one of those beautiful warm sunny days perfect for walks to the park, or if tomorrow will be cold and windy and often filled with snow.  I crave warmth and light and so it is times like these that I start dreaming of taking my family and escaping for a vacation in some tropical paradise. I dream of a place where the people are as friendly as the weather. A place I am discovering like the Cayman Islands

Did you know that it is not the beauty of their beaches, or their fantastic activities and attractions; rather it is the kindness of its people that the Caymans are most proud of? That’s right they believe that the feeling of heart and hospitality of the Cayman Islands surpasses the warmth of the Sun.  They even have a word for this: Caymankind! Isn’t that so awesome!

The more I learn the more I really want to go there. That’s why I was so excited to learn about the CaymanKIND of kid Contest

How does this contest work? All you have to do is visit www.scholastic.com/caymankind and fill out their contest form telling Scholastic and the Cayman Islands how your kid is a CaymanKIND of kid. Do you have a child that brings light to your life? Does your child love to care about and serve others? Does your child care about the environment? Is your child an ongoing example to you of what is good in the world? Now is your chance to share! One (1) Grand prize winner will receive an all-expense paid trip for 4 to the Cayman Islands!

When I think of this contest I think of my 4 year old daughter. I love how every day she announces to me and the world, “Today is a good day!” Though like any 4 year old she has her moments of tears, and tantrums, her normal disposition is to be happy. My daughter is the one to pull me out of bed in the morning (not an easy task now that I am 6 months pregnant). I have heard and seen my darling daughter comforting her younger brother when I was count get to him fast enough.

My Bella girl gets shy around new people, but if you give her a moment she warms right up. She sees beyond looks, race, and even mental abilities and simply accepts everyone around her for who they really are.

My daughter is an example to me in how to be more open and loving, and less cynical and judgment of the world around me. She reminds me of how important it is to forgive, and move on when I am hurt. Life is too short to hold a grudge. I can honestly say I am a better person because I have Bella in my life. I am sure you feel the same about your children.

This contest will run through May 31st I encourage you to take a few moments and enter today! Let us know if you win!
