For me, location is everything when I travel, for most of our travels we don’t have a car so we always want to be as close to all the attractions and must see areas as much as possible. So when we went to Johor Bahru the Amari was an obvious choice. It is located in the heart of Johor Bahru and is within walking distance of so many sites. Luckily you can also easily grab an Uber if you want to explore further out.
The Amari Johor Bahru is a classically beautiful hotel with all the amenities and perks you can expect from an Amari property. I am always impressed with the Amari rooms. They are well appointed and always very spacious. I have come to realize that you can’t always count on space especially in Asia so this is a luxury that I thoroughly enjoy with Amari. The Amari Johor Bahru is great for family travelers and solo travelers alike. Just be sure to ask for an extra bed for kids.
While staying at The Amari Johor Bahru partaking in the morning breakfast is a must and can’t be missed. This is by far one of the best breakfast buffets we have experienced and if not careful could leave you stuffed till the next day. There are so many options it can almost be overwhelming. I would recommend showing up early and just taking your time and soaking it all in.
Another highlight of staying at Amari Johor Bahru is its proximity to Singapore. You can easily grab an Uber or even a bus to head over to Singapore. The hotel is right near JB Sentral and from there you can easily head off to Singapore. Keep in mind that while it only takes about 30 minutes to drive into Singapore you will want to plan a whole day for transport and activities to really get the most out of your time.
The Amari Johor Bahru has a fantastic business center and meeting rooms for those doing business or work travel.
One of my favorite things about the property was the proximity to the City Square Shopping Mall. A short five minute walk and I was at a fantastic mall with everything I could want.
The walk is also almost completely covered so even if it’s raining you can easily get there. Located in the City Square Shopping Mall is The Angry Birds Activity Park. If you have kids in tow this is a must see! The Amari Johor Bahru is also a short drive away from LEGOLAND Malaysia, Hello Kitty Land and many other family attractions.
