How To Prevent and Get Rid of Lice Fast This School Year

August 2019

It’s almost time for back to school! While most families get ready and gather supplies, I have this nagging thought over and over again. I start to think of all the possible germs or other things kids can come home with, most of which you can’t do anything about. Our family has always had a plan if a certain little pest happens to hitchhike back to our home.

I don’t know a single parent that doesn’t shudder at the thought of lice. The thought of going through your kid’s hair trying to get rid of these little pests is not a pleasant thought for anyone and this is why I have a secret tool to combat them. I remember back when I was in school they were thought of as a dirty bug that only went in your hair if it was dirty. This is of course a complete myth. Lice don’t discriminate and no child is immune to them. You’d probably be surprised to know that lice is the second most frequent health issue for school-aged kids in the US.

Keep in mind if your child gets lice that they don’t carry any sicknesses they are just gross. It’s much worse to get a tick or other bugs that can actually cause illness.

So here is what to do if your child comes home with lice or you get the dreaded lice notice from the school:

You might think there isn’t much for prevention but there is a great way to keep these little bugs at bay. You can easily use Vamousse Lice Defense Daily Shampoo once you hear of a possible outbreak to hopefully keep them away. This is a great prevention shampoo that smells nice and is homeopathic and safe for your child. I feel so much better sending them off knowing they are better protected from getting lice. You can also use the Vamousse Lice Repellent Leave-In Spray to be proactive. This is made with essential oils and has a great smell. I would highly recommend this for before sleepovers or any large group activity.

If your child does get lice you don’t have to fear because Vamousse has you covered to get rid of them as well. For my own children I go with Vamousse because I don’t feel safe  putting any pesticides on my child’s head. I wanted a non-toxic treatment that I know will still work. Vamousse is made with essential oils and has no synthetic pesticides. Unlike other products that take multiple applications, Vamousse works instantly and is so effective you only need one treatment! I also love that it’s a mousse and not a shampoo; it makes it super easy to target the areas I know I really need to get.

As a bit of a germophobe I was always worried about lice spreading to other surfaces, which is why I also use the Vamousse Lice Elimination Powder on any household items I’m concerned came in contact with the lice. It’s great for clothes, carpet, stuffed animals and more. It’s my last step to give me and my family peace of mind.

You can find Vamousse over-the-counter at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kmart, Meijer, Food Lion and HEB, and also online at,,, and
