I knew I needed a work around and this recipe is the perfect solution! With just three ingredients I can easily make sure I never run out of sweetened condensed milk ever again!

Sweetened condensed milk can be used in so many recipes, but I personally love it on top of pancakes, waffles, a toasted tortilla or I even add a tablespoon of it to my coffee to make it a bit more special. I learned this little trick when we spent over a year living in Malaysia. In Malaysia and other South East Asian Countries sweetened condensed milk is added to teh tarik and other drinks; it can turn anything from boring and bland to amazing!
So if you need a little pick-me-up for your drinks or other recipes you'll definitely want to save this recipe! Here is all you will need to make your own 3 ingredient homemade sweetened condensed milk:
:: 1 cup hot water
:: 1 1/2 cups sugar
:: 1 1/2 cups powdered milk
Add your hot water to a mixer and while on a low setting slowly begin to add the sugar and sift the powdered milk in slowly.

This will make a decent amount, if you only need a little bit I would just cut the recipe in half. This will turn out to be about the same amount as two small cans. This can be made by hand, but I prefer using a mixer and it makes the work a lot easier and quicker to get the consistency you need.
Once you have everything mixed you can store it in air tight jars in the fridge. I personally love these jelly jars and I use these for storing an they come with labels as well. You could also use a cleaned out squeezable bottle for easy use. Next time you need sweetened condensed milk I hope this recipe will come in handy!
